Where is the shader I need?

I was following this tutorial:

I did all that good stuff. Anyway, I want to make the screens you see in JO (the ones made of glass.) But I don't know what shader parts I need for that transparent effect. I been looking in the shader files but no luck. What should I do?

Actually, are the textures "that consist of much blackness with only certain showing" the alpha channels used for certain shaders?

I'm just stumped...

Look at grating textures as an example. Also, Gonk's showcase has a little tutorial on it by Gonk himself.
