Elevator problems
2004-01-21, 4:17 AM #1
I'm working on a map for the co-op mod. I can't get my elevators to work right. I made a func_plat (platform) and filled in all the height values, it worked fine. Then I added post on the platform. (going around the edges to hold the roof of the elevator up. I made the post's func_plat's too, and filled in the same values. So they would move together. I did the same for the roof. Then I conected all of them to the platform (ctrl+k) Now when I stepped on the elevator, every thing went well going up, it did what i expected. But when I reached the top, after about 3 seconds the 4 posts and the roof started moving down. The bottom platform, that I was standing on, stayed.

My Question is, how would I make it so that all of the posts and the roof, would stay at the top until I went off the platform. TO move acordingly on the way down.

Why dont you just select all of the pieces of the elevator at the same time and make a single func_plat?

I'll try that, I'm not sure if it will work though. Thanks

Yeah I figured it would. Ctrl-K doesn't actually "connect" entities. It just targets the first entity selected at the second one.
