Is there a way to change the direction of the snow falling in MP of JA? I need the snow to fall downward. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif]

i believe that has to be hard coded. i could be wrong, though.

The snow on SP Hoth is different than regular snow though (different dirrection). Hmm.

those maps have .weather files. i'll dig around and see if i can figure anything out.

...well, i haven't been able to find anything other than the fact that .weather files to control advanced weather effects. i have no idea if they can be opened, nor what language they are written in.

I found the .weather file but I can't edit it. Is it editable in the editor?

I can't find anything out about that file format... it's really weird usually Raven releases file format information. Like BSP and MD3 file formats have been released. Theres nothing apparent unfortuatly [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] it's all in hex, and since we're not even sure what the thing does exactly it's hard to figure out.

i'm sure it's nothing more than the coordinates of the area of weather, the fx file used, and the direction, speed, and density of the file. i can't imagine what more could be needed. anywho, i did do a little more digging for a project i'm working on, and i haven't really been able to find anything new.

Try fx_wind. I think that it will affect direction of snow (+ add special animation)

i think there are keys not mentioned in the editor. you could experiment with things like count, wind, and direction to see.

i'm pretty sure that the .weather file is something that the game generates the first time a map is loaded that tells it where the weatherzones are, and helps it load that map faster from then on. (so you wouldn't even have to include it in a pk3)
