recompile model?
2004-06-30, 10:11 AM #1
hey. i did a little skining in jedi outcast, and am trying my hand at jedi academy. basically the same so far, but when i tried to open some skins in modview, it told me there were to many bones in the model, and it probablly needed to be recompiled. is that whats wrong? if so, how do i go about it? what program do i really need to do that? thanks!

heres what I do... Re-skin... Follow the .skin file to the new probable re-named .jpg files. In the .skin txt file. Make sure every path is .tga instead of .jpg. Difference is .tga is more for shaders and it generates its own. How to veiw it is in game shots. If this model is a custom one, your having problems. If this is JA. You shouldnt simply.

Either way it should work in game 110%. Could be that the file name is wrong? Is this a custom or JA raven model?

its a custom skin someone else did, a custom model i think as well. i really just wanted to veiw it, but forgot the command to control the camera in-game. plus modview is alot more convienient. ive seen this with 2 models so far, both made for ja, both custom. thanks for the help, if anyone has any more tips, id appreciate it.
