Is there a glitch or something...

That allows the player to go through patch meshes? I think I performed this glitch one or two times. Some of my patches are need to block the player. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif]

I need a few more details. Are you using shaders on the patches (metal, glass, etc.)?

Nope. Just a regular patch.

just use a noclip shader. clone the patch and apply the shader, or just make a rough shape with brushes.

Do you know about curve-stitching technique? It's a way to approximate a curve using brushes. Take a brush and get to the view where you want to see the curve. Then clip from the next-to-top grid block on the right to the next-to-last grid block on the bottom, like this:

Save both sections (shift+enter)and deselect the smaller portion, then go from the one below that to the next one over:

Repeat, delete whichever section you don't want, and you get a nice curve made of brushes:

Notes: the lighting doesn't fade off like it does on curves, and the engine draws larger surfaces than you see on the inside curve.
[Edit: sorry if this seems a bit long, I had to have my daily ramble.]

Have you ever been philosophical? It's pretty fun.

If it is for a corner, you could use the above technique with the clip (invisible wall) shader and put it behind a patch mesh.

I remember there was site that showed how to use this glitch in maps like the Tattoinne (sp?) city and other Raven maps. It featured a jawa player (I think it was called "jumping jawa" or something). The glitch works best on meshes that are not basic carves.

Dont you think you could have been a little nicer? I mean he makes this big curve tutorial thing for u and thats all you say. I think he was just trying to state that there are other ways to make solid curves anyway. I mean gosh u dont have to be mean about it.

Actually my response was out of confusion and the awe of the work he put behind. If he wants, he should submit the tutorial to Massassi. I shall add a [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif] icon with my post to help.
