GTK Radiant Question
2004-09-05, 7:23 AM #1
OK, these few questions are for GTK Radiant users with the newest version (currently 1.5.0) from www.qeradiant.com

Here they are:

a.) How do I start up a BSP? -- There use to be a BSP "Test" feature in the old versions of GTK, now, it disables me from testing my maps. A little help on this would help me alot.

b.) How do I incorporate my own textures (that I make) into GTK and shown up on the JA?

Help on these would be greatly appreciated.

Don't use 1.5, it's incredibly unstable.

But it's so sweet... :p
OK. I guess I'll de-grade to v 1.4.0... :(

See ya.

For putting new textures in, put your custom textures in a .pk3 under textures/nameofmap/texture.jpg. Load them up like regular textures.

How would I put them in a .pk3? What's the requirements?
Thanks! And would I have to do anything... to a "Textures" files for Jedi Academy in GTK Radiant folder? Like a text file?

Thanks!

To put your "work" (like your .bsp map, custom textures, custom shaders, new menus, new sounds and so on) in a .pk3, use a program called Pakscape. Remember to properly put all your stuff in the right directories so the game can find them when it opens up the .pk3 file.

It is recommened to place your custom textures in a custom, easily recognizable, folder under base/textures folder. Make sure the textures follow guidelines for them to work (like they are right formats, have deminsions of pixels in the power of 2, and so on). Also, remember to place the custom textures in the .pk3 for them to work. Update the shaderlist.txt (found under the shaders folder) if nessesary. GTK should show your new texture folder with the other texture folders.
