Problems with doors.
2005-04-06, 6:26 PM #1
Hi. I am having a problem with doors on the Gtk editor.
I specify the line for the sound in the door brush. (After I made it a door)

In game the door works correctly, it moves just like i planned it to, but the only problem is, The sound isn't working.
Now i'm not trying custom sound, im using the JA game sound for the doors (this is a level for JA not JO)

Still the sound won't play when the door opens.
Anyone knows if this is a problem or how to help me?

Check the tutorial section on this site for the door tutorial. The tutorial was made for JA, but can applied to JA.

Make sure the path is right
(i.e. its sound/yoursound.wav and not sounds/yoursound.wav

Make sure you specify it as .wav or .mp3

If I were you, I would use soundsets.

Actually, I'm using soundsets for doors even though I'm not you!

Alright, Its still not working.

For some reason the sound just wont play when the door opens.
I tried several lines under the noise command

sound/movers/doors/door_medium_01.mp3
and
sound/door_medium_01.mp3

It doesnt work.

I also have the sounds folder extracted from the assesst0.pk3
into my base folder, maybe that is causing the problem?

Make sure the mp3 is not corrupted. I know for a fact that when you save a .wav file as a .mp3, it wont work. So to covert wav to mp3 you have to use some sort of coverter:
