Ok, so I'm trying to weild Vertixes on a model.

I select them, and hit the weild button, and this is what I get.

I am using 3DS Max 7, and I dont know how to fix my problem.
Here is another example:
The White squares represent the Vertixes, I want the top row, weilded to the bottom row.

and thus get the result of the bottom half of the picture.
Can anyone help me?

get them closer together, or increase the weld threshold
