Brushes don't show up.

Well, I made this sweeeeet lampshade. And..well..only part of it shows up, like someone caulked the other bits. And the invisible parts are shootable, so it's not like they aren't there...and there's no caulk in my level. See for yourself.

What editor are you using?

Also, why aren't you using patch meshes for that?

How did you make it? Did you make it with the clipper tool?

I don't even want to know why there's no caulk in your level, though... But it makes me think you should brush up (pun, pun) your mapping techniques before worrying about more delicate details.

GTK Radiant.

And this is my first level..so..yeah..n00b here...I have no idea how to do patch meshes.

Oh, lassev. I created a cone using the Brush -> Primitives -> Cone and 20 sided, and hollowed it and chopped off the top and bottom.

Don't use the Hollow tool. Stop using it.

Just make a brush, go to Curves, click Cylinder, position the cylinder correctly, click on the cylinder, press V, and position the vertexes to shape a lampshade.

And please, please, please, tell me that you are not going to use a dirt texture for the wall. It is beyond ugly.

Yeah. The Hollow tool might easily have caused bad brushes to form. It's a useful tool to hollow a simple box, but shouldn't be used for anything more complex. 20 sided cone is far too complex. It would be practically impossible to do this with clipping, if you want 20 sides, as well. As Echoman said, use patch meshes.

I'd tell you, but I'd be lying :o I admit to sucking at texturing.

Oh, and I'll try that lampshade thing in a few minutes. do either of you have MSN or AIM so if I ever need help, I can just directly contact you?

Thanks, Zlocista.
