I'm trying to make an emplaced gun on a JK2 multiplayer map.

I added an emplaced gun in radiant, but the model of the gun did not load in the game. so I looked for the file the game was looking for in the assets0, and I found all the necessary model files. I put them in the base folder, and voila, the gun shows up and it fires. Only problem is, the gun's skin doesn't turn with the emplaced gun. So I can fire in different directions, but the skin remains stationary. Also, when I press e to sit in the seat, I get positioned behind the chair lol. So I can't see too much.

So how can I get the skin to rotate as you fire in different directions, and how can I be sitting in the chair instead of behind the chair.

I don't remember anyone actually getting that gun to work in JK2 MP, only in SP. Interesting, I didn't know it functioned.

You mention that you can actually move the gun and can fire it? How well can you move it? When you mention that the "skin" stays in place, you mean the whole model?

Perhaps the emplaced gun for JO MP was just unfinished code left by the developers. There is a functional emplaced gun in Jedi Academy where the player does stand behind the thing to use it.

here's screenies from in gtk and in the game. In one of the pictures you might be able to see that i'm firing the gun, but the lasers are going one way, and the gun's skin is just pointing straight ahead. Also, It's really blocking my view.

So ya I can turn and fire in different directions (up to a certain angle), but the model (or skin) just stays pointing foward. So the emplaced gun does kinda work.

Well, I'm not sure what you can really do with the turrent. Unless you can code, I don't think the problems with the thing can be easily fixed.
