I want to play Rise of Nations over our LAN. Now, I'm sure that my dad's comp barely meets the system requirments:
Technically, there is no reason why this wouldn't work. However, when I tried installing the demo, the PC gamer disk said that it failed the RAM requirment even though it just barely enough. Could this be because the system is using some of that RAM? When I try playing it it gives me an error message.
Now, it just so happens that I am upgrading my comp and will be tossing some of my old RAM. It's 2 sticks of 256mb PC-133 SDRAM. My dad's old Dell comp has a motherboard that supports 256mb PC-100 SDRAM, but not 256mb PC-133 SDRAM. But they are both 168-pin DIMM's.
Here is the memory I'm supposed to get for the Dell.
Here is what I have. (the 256mb one)
Would this work? Is this even the problem since the min. req. is 128mb RAM, which my dad does have?
