I can't believe I got my new computer (I built) to work on the first try!

Here's what I used from my old computer:
2 hard drives
Geforce 4 video card
CDRW drive
floppy drive

Here's what's new
2.8 GHz Pentium 4 with an 800 MHz front side bus and hyperthreading technology
Intel PERLL motherboard
1 gig of DDR RAM
CDRW/DVD-ROM combo drive
Antec TruPower power supply
CompUSA case with fans and window panels.

Not to bad a system considering I spent less than $500.

On the shelf at CompUSA around here the processor is $350 and the motherboard is a bit less than $200.

I found them on newegg.com for $210 (processor) and $110 (motherboard). A friend of mine has a coprporate account at CompUSA and was able to save me about $15 each on the case and power supply. The combo drive I actually found for $15 after rebates this morning at OfficeMax. The RAM - you won't believe this - I got free after rebate (old deals no longer available)
