I'm such a moron. I read a post on http://slashdot.org/ about how Microsoft released a patch (finally) for the security vulnerability discussed here in another thread. So I clicked the link and tried to run Windows Update. Then I realized that I was on Linux. I'm not joking. I was using Windows for so long that it's hard to break old habits!

You actually used Windows Update? I tried my hardest to stay away from it and find better ways to get my updates. I freaking hate that bloody thing.

Well, i just tryed it, and i know i would definately be more likely to use it if my network card was supported. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/mad.gif] I was look forward to getting a few different software apps and starting to tinker with that, but with any web access, i don't think i am goign to bother.

About knoppix, I'm downloading it right now but how does it work? All my partitions are NTFS so how can you install new software for it?

No, you don't install it. It runs directly from the cd. If you really like it, you'll have to wipe one of your hard drives and install it there, then you can install all the software you want. I wouldn't recommend doing that - if you're going to, get a new HD, put it in next to your old one, and install it on the second hd.

I want an iBook or the new G5. Solves all my problems... well, except a few. Like I used a can of the Dust-Off stuff and held it upside down to freeze a goldfish, cracker not a real fish, and my thumb was frozen in the process and it hurts now.

One question i have about linux. If i can get me network card working with it, what do you guys recomend for a chat cilent? I have no clue what i would use under linux.
