On certain (not all, but some) jpg images that I view in IE, when I click "Save Picture As" it will only allow me to save the image as "untitled.bmp"

Here's an example of what I'm talking about -

And what happens after I click to save the image..



I tried copy+pasting the image URL into the address bar, and then trying to save it, but the same deal still happened.

This doesn't happen with all jpg images, just some of them. And with all .gif images, it defaults to save them as bmp's, but I can select to still save them as gif's.

I'm just really confused as to why this would be happening. Anyone encountered this before? Anyone know any solutions to fix it? (other than using another browser, thankyou...)

I did just that. Turns out it is a registry problem. I couldn't find out what the exact cause of the problem was, however I did find the solution. It was to simply clear out the temporary internet files, and remove any objects with a "Unknown" or "Damaged" status.


Anyways, it was a learning experience.
