There's tons of albums coming out in 2004. Here's some that I've seen announced so far:

Glen Phillips- Glen Phillips
This guy's one of my favorites. You can download (legally) one of my favorite songs of his here: http://www.comebackdownload.com/mp3s/Glen%20Phillips%20-%20Easier%20(Demo).mp3

New Order--?
Echo and the Bunnymen (A new album as well as rereleases of their first five albums)

Nada Surf
Frank Black- Frank Black Francis (a double album)
Morrissey- You Are The Quarry (Plus a possible Smiths reunion!)

Wilco
Fugazi
Elliott Smith
Sonic Youth
U2
The Sisters of Mercy
The Cure
REM
Radiohead--?
Lou Reed
Sigur Ros
Pedro the Lion

And I'm of course waiting for two albums of Jean-Michel Jarre, announced to be released in 2004 [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

New Fugazi and Radiohead would be pretty cool.

I think a new Jimmy Eat World album might be coming out as well, but that's just something I heard secondhand.

I didn't know that Fugazi was coming out with a new one. That should be good.

Coldplay are recording a new album in London right now, but it's not expected to be released until early 2005. They played a few new songs when I saw them in concert, pretty darn good.

I'd be surprised if Radiohead get a new album out this year, they're still touring Hail to the Theif.

It's been said, Spork. It also surprises me because the band as a whole said that it was likely they wouldn't do anymore albums. They thought the online music services seemed likely.

Anxiously awaiting new albums this year from Matthew Good, Better Than Ezra, and Indigo Girls, just to name a few.

Edit: Oh, and I'm pretty interested in Braddigan's work. I think he's planning on a CD for this year.

I too am not fond of what seems to pass as popular these days. Give me Pink Floyd or Led Zepplin over any modern band.

Iced Earth - The Glorious Burden had a "worldwide" release on the 13th/14th of January. Of course it was the 19th here, which isn't part of the world. And of course "release" doesn't actually mean what it used to, so although it was "released" on the 19th there still aren't actually in the store. The *******s! I want my "Gettysburg - 1863" in a decent quality format!

No mention of Radiohead, so perhaps I was wrong.
Then again there's no mention of Glen Phillips so that means they both suck. (Can you tell my obsession?)

I can't believe I forgot to mention The Church in my first post! They're awesome!

Riiiiiight... Depsite the fact many modern bands rip-off the classics wholesale?

And I guess Beethoven wasnt music either. Or The Beatles. Or Elvis. Because 'music' only existed for a short period during the 70s.

Exactally. Well, more of a stretch from ~1965 through ~1985. After that it went downhill.
