hehe, they should build that into M16s for American troops.

Although I can't find the article, I heard that thousands of those in Iraq have tossed aside their M-16s in favor of AK-47s, which are faster-firing, jam less in the dry, sandy environment, and ammo (as well as the guns themselves) is FAR more plentiful. So this addon is a possibility for American troops as well!

A) No M16s have been jamming in Iraq because it's been a war of luxury. Our soldiers have plenty of time to maintain their weapons.

B) AK-47's cyclic rate is 600 rpm, M16's is 800. Not that it matters in any way though.

It's the ammo availability, and nothing else.

Is that the full automatic rate, or the semi-automatic rate? most AK-47s don't need any modification to switch modes... depending on how fast one can pull the trigger, one can theorietically fire a semi-auto weapon faster than a full-auto weapon... Although I do assume that you're reffering to the fully automatic modes for both weapons, because many weapons can reach a semi-auto fire rate of over 1000 rpm; it's just a matter of being fast enough.
