Is Jedi Knight compatabile with Win 2000. Every time I go into multiplayer it freezes. Help!

try runnong it with hardwar off it works because my comp is a 98[jk is a 95 ONLY game]
and it works

I'm running Win2k and have never had this problem. When exactly does it freeze? When you connect, when you actually enter the game, or just when you click the "multiplayer" button?

When I try to create a new character or if I enter a multiplayer game regardless of if I host or join. The CPU usage goes up to 1005 and it freezes for about 20 sec then plays fine for 5 then freezes again. The computer is a 1.2 ghz Atholon with a gig of RAM so I don't thinnk it is a performance problem.

hmm could be win 98 IS better 2000...nah probably a glitch on the cd or a graphic card defiect remember have all the latest patches helps any game regardless weather its ja or df it helps

I checked the CD of system suite and it's fine. My video card is a Nvidia GeForce 2 Ti. It has the latest drivers. But just incase could I have a link to a driver resource?

You probably need to turn off your firewall. I had a similar problem with my old computer.

Geforce cards are NOT 3dfx. Jedi Knight is NOT OpenGL.

Anyway, I would check drivers for your motherboard, your network card, make sure you don't have a firewall on, make sure you have the latest version of DirectX, or try reinstalling JK. Also, if you are using a patch or mod, try disabling it and see if it works. Could be the mod crashing the game.

I assume it works fine in SP then, right?
