Ok, here's the deal. My friend is into the shirt making business, and has a silkscreen and the works. I came up with an awesome idea for a shirt that he wants to make, but it uses a picture of the Quake 1 or 2 Quad Damage powerup.
Now, he would be selling these on his website, so my question is: "Is this violating copywrites?" I think that normally, it might be, but I'm not sure because it's the Quake games. They're open source, and have been ripped apart by the community.
So anyone who is knowledgeable with copywrite laws, please give me your opinion.
