I just downloaded and installed AA v.2

I completed all the training except for medic... But when I go to multiplayer, and click 'refresh list', it doesn't load up the possible servers. It just displays 'connecting to andromeda' in the lower left corner...

Any Ideas?

Go to advanced and pick the gamespy servers. I had the same problem. The other one (I can't remeber the name) didn't show up.

Yeah, apparently Andromedra was a good server browser but now it gets swamped. I recommend downloading All-Seeing Eye (there's a free demo) - it'll work for all your games.

That game drove me nuts. The drill sergeant was a pain in the arse and I also had the same server problem. I ended up deleting it and freeing up about a gig of space on my HD.

Open the game, go to the console (Escape twice, then tab) and type in "start ip" with an IP you get from that list.

That is what i always think of when people talk abuot America's Army. Except AA is even more of a blatant recruitment propeganda strategem. I always wonder what happens to all the thousands of people who join the army and find out they can't /all/ be mad leet sniperz..

You're missing out. Once you get throught the training, it's a great MP game.

It is a great game. Work your way through all the training, and make sure you do your best. Especially the marksman. Do better than 36 out of 40 targets, the sniper training will be made available. Sniper guns are fun to use, but a lot harder to actually get in the game.

Trouble getting a server? First of all, make sure "Punkbuster" is selected (lower right-hand corner), then I always select "Gamespy" for servers, then select the maps you wish to play on. Then select filter, and join. Fairly simple I thought....

{EDIT} BTW, make sure you also have the v2.00a patch downloaded as well...

Recruitment scan or no, all of those like historical army sorta games just kinda perturb me somehow, like theyre so rampantly popular and stuff. Partly the whole typical desenitizing/glorifying of horrible wars thing perhaps.

There was an absolutely brilliant series in some webcomic about how recruits gotten via America's Army would wind up, like this one sniper guy going into this huge monologue about how leet he is while someone runs up and sets a grenade on his helmet.. i can't remember which comic it was or i'd look them up.
