Looking for a Lightweight Flexible metal webbing/net thing

I'm constructing custom speaker panels for my car and i need a pretty flexible material that has a sort of fine net structure so it can be bent and will hold it's shape.

The only way i can think of something like this is taking extremely high gauge wire and laying a bunch of verticle strands and then a bunch of horizontal strands then heating it to the point they fuse together holding their net like structure.

So if anyone has any idea of what the heck im talking about and if it is sold at places like Lowes or Homedepot help me out. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Why can't you just use standard speaker covers?

not speaker covers, Im using this to mold a shape of panels then cover it with Fiberglass strips. Its a pretty difficult shape.

*edit* the stock speaker mounts face at an angel down so im building an extension off of the speaker mount and then making the speaker point right at the driver/passengers face.

Hrm, we used chicken wire to shape volcanoes when I was in middle school [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I searched on google:

http://www.google.com/search?q=moldable+wire+mesh&sourceid=opera&num=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

And there is quite a bit of what you're looking for. http://www.myartsupply.com/disprod.asp?prodID=345
