How do I look up what my current IP is? Also, to get a new one with DSL, don't I just have to turn it off then back on?

1. depends on your OS [winxp/2k start-run-cmd-ipconfig]
2. read your contract with the isp?

Depends on if your IP is static or dyanmic. Static will stay the same. Usually if you unplug and plug in your modem you'll get assigned a new address by your ISPs DHCP server.

You prob aren't running Win98, but if you are go to "Start" thne "Run" then in the prompt type in "winipcfg" and it will come up with a box. Select the scroll down list, and choose your valid network card, and your IP address should be in the box! :-)

If you're not running 98 . . . it's different, like said above.

and if you're using a router/hub/firewall or something, ipconfig only returns the IP of your router/hub/firewall/whatever; go to ipchicken.com, whatismyip.com, ipmonster.com, or any other site like that, and it should tell you your IP
