But times for me are rough. I guess with this post you guys get the last part of my soul :P.

Okay well here goes, about a year ago I moved away from an abusive mother, and now I live with my aunt and uncle. In doing so, I gave up any and all friends I had, and now it's hard to get over. I'm finally starting to recover from the shock, but it's a bit too late I'm afraid.
Also, like most, girl trouble. The girl I like is everything I want; pretty, smart, nice, and all that extra stuff. But she has a crush on a psychotic senior. Suckage.
Maybe it was just a kind of had-to-get-it-off-my-chest kinda thing, but I decided to post here. Thanks for listening...or...read...whatever. :P

The problem with a lot of teenage relationships is that the girl only sees that she loves the guy, and can't see that he's a moron, cheating on her, bad influence, or whatever. The guy in such a relationship will likely take advantage of the girl in any way possible (not necessarily sex).

You could show this girl you care by being there for her when things get rough between them. Chances are good that he'll dump her, if he's the kind of guy you say. I guess that means you'll have to be patient, too.

For once I agree with SAJN, **** high school lovey dovey romances. Even if they work, it's useless, just go through high school and wait 'till college.

I wouldn't say they are useless, but they aren't real relationships that one will have once you become an adult.

If you can't have a "real" relationship in highschool then there is something wrong with you. What changes between highschool and college? Is there some huge maturity boost after you graduate?

Just like a relationship you have when you are 30 is going to be a lot different than one you will have when you are 20. You get older and what you look for in a relationship changes.

ahah. Actually, a real relationship is something that relies on something else than only Sex and looks, which is pretty much what most American (globally, yes, us Canucks as well) teens live by.

and then College, well, life takes another turn. The difference between HS and College is the fact that you no longer have it easy with studies, and you have to handle yourself most of the time, no chances.

I agreed with Dog's first paragraph, but the second went awry.

What you need to do is get over having crushes. I've stopped having crushes, but I'm not exactly sure how it happened. I think it was a by-product of my build up in confidence. Crushes are really a waste of time and probably even unhealthy. Probably the best thing to do is get a time consuming hobby(besides computers, preferably something physical). If you already do, well, meh.

It's not that hard to make friends. Just start talking to people casually and see what develops from there.

I've seen this happen to many other people, and It happened to me a few times before i learned how the world works.

I learned that it is pointless to focus on one woman at a time. This blinds you to all the other prospects out there. Rather, start by dating several simultaneously, and work your way down to the one that you like the most.

Second, don't overidealize the chick. stuff like "The girl I like is everything I want; pretty, smart, nice, and all that extra stuff." eventually ends up with you placing the chick on a pedestal, which is the worst thing that you can do because it robs you of confidence and at the same time having a guy overisdealizing a chick probably ends up freaking her out.

Don't worry about trying to appeal to her, instead make her want to appeal to you.

1. Make your approach. I once heard an expression that goes like this: Hesitation is like masturbation-- in the end, you are just screwing yourself. " Making the approach ends the suspense on your part b/c it reveals her interest level 100% of the time.

Simply start a small conversation with her. You may be scared s***less to approach at first, but once you stop convincing yourself that she is perfect pron star material, you'll do fine. Keep the convo short, and be sure to get her phone number before you end the convo-- I generally do it after about 5 minutes of small talk.

Simply say "I promised a friend that I would meet him at _______, and he is probably waiting for me right now, you know how some people are. *smile* . I enjoyed talking with you and perhaps we can pick up the convo later. What is your phone #?"

Basically, if she gives you the number, you have her right where you want her. If you don't get the number, move on to the next chick. It's like that stormtrooper in anh that said "Door's locked, move on to the next one." [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif])

What pagewizard said is correct, though I think Yoshi is better off by moving on then trying anything with this girl. He has already mentally screwed himself over beyond repair.

You said this guy was nuts? Better let it be man. Wait till she dumps him or vice versa...or just get over her, atleast try, I know it can be hard. The way you explained this seinor to me on AIM, let it be for now. I'd rather have my health then some girl.

... Yeah, there really is. That's the idea, at least.
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.
