Never buy Sapphire cards. Ever.

Right now they have a huge problem with their ATI cards that causes them to stop working completely after ~3 months use. The video output becomes corrupted.

WTF do I have to discover these things personally?

/cursing ensues.

So looks like I'll have to send it back every 3 months until the warranty is over.

And do they not come with a warranty? Most Video cards come with at least a 1 year warranty these days…

I don't know about where you live, but here in Texas we have a lemon law. If they have to repair the same thing 3 times under warranty, they have to buy it back from you if you want. It sounds like you might want to check and see if there is something similar where you live.

The problem seems to be with the 9500/9600/9700/9800 series.

As for the lemon law, I highly doubt it exists here, and wouldn't know where to find out about it.

I've had my Sapphire 9800 for about 7 months now.. I've NEVER had a problem with it, perhaps it's an isolated issue?

Sapphire makes terrible cards, and that's being generous. Mine just flat out did not work. And yeah, read their tech forum...if that doesn't make it obvious, well..
