Yo...where'd it go and why'd it go?

my suggestion to the people of the religious forum... DON'T BRING THAT CRAP OVER HERE TO GENERAL DISCUSSION... please

at first i was happy that forum is gone then i realized it means that the type of threads that show up there (or were moved there) will probably show up in general discussion...

I'm guessing one or several of the admins realized that the forum was a total intellectual wasteland, and that the admins are not qualified nor experienced nor willing to moderate a debate forum.

Frankly, I'm glad to see that it's gone.... as long as the RD pariahs don't move their raped-and-murdered "logic" to this forum.

If you're really desperate for a religious forum, try this one. It's *WAY* more civil than Massassi's religious forum was (at least at a glance). And the UBB code tags are practically the same as massassi's. I posted there twice. I might've posted more, but the bright colors hurt my eyes.

...Hey, there's a solution for Massassi's religious forum: bright, high contrast colors. Nobody could stand to look at it long enough to read other people's posts. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

No more religious discussion? GOOD.

I was tired of hearing LordIsJudge explain how we're all going to hell because we're not so brainwashed as he is.

So instead of using unreadable posting styles to stop people reading, we just use bright colours instead? The end result is the same.

For the record, oS has the right idea. Religious Discussions haven't been banned, just reintegrated into General Discussion. It's undecided at this point whether the change will be permanent.

This community is already going to crap as it is, it doesn't need little holy wars going on in General Discussion.

...At least, that's my opinion.
2004-02-22, 5:45 PM #17
See? Proof that the religion forum was needed. It's gone for less than a week and we already have two threads discussing it. That's like half the threads you'd normally get in the actual forum!

You've made fun of me and you're whining about Massassi going to crap. Got anything positive to say?

Let's have a little exercise.

All the rivalries and bickering and ill will from the RD forum is left there. Clean slate. That is the only way merging those discussions back into this forum is going to be halfway possible. A new start. How's that sound?

Your post should of ended after "GOOD" as it was the only thing relevant to this topic. The latter was just senseless, uncalled for, mudslinging.

Funny that you should post this, having been one of the most rampant posters in that forum..

And? You made little contribution to the discussions yourself, save for a few snide (and sometimes hard to interpret) comments. Jon was actually one of the quieter people who visited the forum, and he only appeared for reasons similar to my own: when someone makes a mockery of science that's a downright affront to reason.

The Religious Forum....a most wretched hive of scum and villany. I posted there a few times, but found that there were rarely ever any decent threads. There were some intriguing thread titles posted, but once you read what was inside, you really had to wonder whether or not the entire debate was between 10 year olds. For every decent point made, there were 10 people who would post just to start insignificant arguments.

Most of the people that frequent these forums aren't capable of having an intellectual and mature discussion when it comes to religion. There was so much senseless bickering going on in that garbage dump that many people like myself eventually gave up hope for a real discussion, and went elsewhere (where the crowd was capable).

I suppose that it would be a nice gesture to leave the forum up and locked for archival purposes, but this is one guy who is glad to see it gone. Hopefully the people who frequented that forum will take those types of discussions elsewhere. The Massassi crowd just isn't capable. Maybe the guys/gals on the religious side of things could create their own forum, and the guys/gals who lack religion could make theirs. Each of you could post links to your new forums and you could moderate out what you consider to be nonsense, so the forums could prosper. Censorship is good, when you're censoring out obvious idiocy. Good day, kind people.
