i'll have to wait until the news later tonight to see if anyone else can give a better perspective. If they do have him cornered with 50 or so henchmen, if he is even there and they can get him alive...hmmm interesting to say the least.

But certainly not the first time they thought they had him cornered.

They should nuke him while they have the chance.

Mbeggar, that is the best suggestion ever. I would love to see that.

That would make one heck of a Pay-Per-View commercial.

He'd start a hotdog stand. So what?

He'd crash his hotdog cart into random cars screaming "All for Allah"

I am just happy that we could have him captured soon.

But you see, look at the marketing aspect. You could have T-Shirts, mugs, and you it could be a pay-per-view thing.
And then it would hit hollywood. First there'd be a 6 hour miniseries. Then a movie. Then a full time series, that would last 3 seasons. And THEN you would start seeing pieces of Osama or the nuke up on Ebay.

Man. It would be a goldmine.

I can see it now "AUTHENTIC OSAMA TURBAN! RARE!!!" And of course there would be 160 of these selling at once on e-bay.

LOL AMERIKKKA SUX 'cause Americans are violent, brutish and thoroughly enjoy killing things. ... Typical British answer.

In any event, I hope they catch him. If it helps Bush's chances, so be it - maybe it should.
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

They have "tactical Nukes" which have a smaller blast radius, but still the same uncontrolable effects on the environment.

They are still rather indiscriminate killers, and that is why they are still seen as unethical.

If they nuke the area, and they can't find a body, it is possible he could still be alive. Unless they have a body, or something that shows him dead (lower half of the body, upper half, head, etc) there is still a chance he would be alive. If they nuked him, his body might never be recovered.

I highly doubt the news. I haven't really seen any substantial articles to that effect on any of the "trustworthy" sites, and I personally believe that Osama has outsmarted all that are searching for him.

As for the nukes, tactical nukes still make MOABs look like firecrackers. Also, there';s the problem of nuclear fallout: once you blow one, that patch of area is gonna be lethal for about 50,000 years. Also, in such a volatile reigon, India might take the detonation in Pakistan as an attack, and launch their nukes, resulting in an exchange that would result in more than 100 million deaths, quite possibly more than a billion (the two countries have almost 1.5 billion between them). Also, the United States using a weapon of mass destruction would be completely intolerable, given that that's what Sadaam is charged with.
