Child's Play (Penny Arcade Holiday Toy Drive)
2003-12-04, 12:44 AM #1
In an effort to do some good, and combat the stereotype that violent games breed violent people, penny arcade is sponsoring a toy drive for the holiday season, in which gamers can purchase games online from amazon.com, and have them shipped directly to tycho and gabe for inclusion in the toy drive. So far they have raised over 30 thousand dollars in donations and toy orders. Anything that any gamers can do to help out would be most appreciated, and be a great help in giving some kids a happy holiday season which they might not otherwise have, and help to show that gamers really are compassionate and caring people.

Please also take the time to post this on any other gaming forums you may visit, anything that can be done to spread the word helps a lot.

Sorry about that, the other thread was posted while I was on vacation and had dropped off the list by the time I came back so I never saw it.

From the pictures, I see Gamecube, I think a PS2 and a Xbox. Ha. I love to see little kids try to carry a heavy Xbox.

Whatever the number is, it's an insane amount of toys. There are going to be some very very happy-ish kids this christmas, and some very thankful children's hospital staff.

So basically if it is described as a "good deed", then its important enough to be posted several times thus wasting the forum space with literature people already read.

Interesting.

The only interesting thing I see is your complete lack of a heart. There's nothing wrong with posting the same thing twice, especially if it's for a great cause. This board gets enough threads that "waste space" already - I welcome threads that have an actual point. In addition, no one is making you read this topic - you read the title, you could have chosen not click on it.

Lets compare: Webspace wasted (4kb-12kb) vs An unfortunate child brought happiness because someone decided to be selfless, and looked at a thread they would have otherwise missed had someone not seen it.

Which is more important? If you honestly think the first, I hope I die and go to hell, because I don't want to be part of this world if people are so damn ignorant.
