I've heard quite a lot of jokes on this, "So-Called-Postman", and would just like to know, who EXACTLY is he, and where did he come from/created/generated/morphed/invented?

It's a classic British Children's Television Show!

I went to Scotland for a month when I was 4 and watched Postman Pat like everyday.

He was just that: A Postman Pat. (I think he had a cat as well)

He'd always try to deliver the mail,in rain or snow or sleet or hail, but in each episode there was a problem. A big blizzard. His truck would break down.

It was a great lesson on why postal workers deserve respect, something lost on the Postman Pat deprived children of today.

Oh, okay, so how did he turn into a joke? What makes a serious character funny as a joke?

Wow... I had almost forgotten Postman Pat. When I was nearing school age I lived in England for like 4 years and I used to watch that show among others... Those were the days...

Postman Pat once belonged to the VHS' I watched in my childhood. I haven't seen anything related to the series for years, but maybe there is some potential in it to make parodies of it, or something.

Postman Pat scares me because its timeframe is so vague. If it weren't for the truck it could take place any time in the last 300 years... even with the truck any time in the last 80... I like my shows to be explicit about when they're taking place!

Postman Pat,
Postman Pat,
Postman Pat ran over his cat.
Early in the morning,
Postman Pat was mourning,
Postman Pat's a very unhappy man.

Joys of school days, dude.

Go and accompany this re-education of yourself by googling "Postman Pat" + "Kid's TV". I trust you don't need me to give you the link to Google... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Anyways - fantastic times, those [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]. Those were when cartoons (more specifically "kid's TV") WERE PROPER cartoons!!! *sigh* [/old-man-rant] [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

The kids of today have no idea what they missed out on. The best kids cartoons were from the late 80's early 90's.

Well, I agree with lucky_jackpot's statement on, "We don't know good cartoons" sort of thing. It's true, most cartoons today are crap. I've seen some of the older ones, and they're pretty good. Poor, poor television, my one true guide to life has crumbled into oblivion. But, atleast I still have Massassi. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
