Damn, where would you recommend to go for good web hosting then?

I found this... but I can't help but remember that fairmount offered hosting for just $1 / month!

OSC was hosted by fairmount. Jason mismanaged and it went bankrupt. All monies were refunded.
and the $1 a month service was crap. I paid $96 a year.
