Okay, I made a thread recently about Massive multiplayers and it kind of answered what I wanted, so I will be more direct this time. What MMORPG shoud I get? So far, I can think of these:

1. Ultima Online
2. Everquest(I'm getting the classic version free soon because of some DSL deal I got when subscribing to DSl. But it's the original and thus worthless to me.)
3. Planetside(Same as Everquest, though I don't know if it's the original or not).
4. SW Galaxies (actually, I've already ruled this one out because of reviews)
5. WWII Online (I'm tempted, but I just don't know enough about it. besides, I've been saturated in WWII games lately)
6. The Sims (I am not getting this one. Period.)

So far, I'm leaning towards Ultima Online unless someone can convince me to get one of these or a different one. I know someone will say "Well, just stay with normal games, it costs less." Yes, but I need social interactment of some kind in mulitplayer games and it has gotten to the point where I can't stand it if it isn't in a game. To me, a MMORPG would seem like the best thing to do.

If I were you DL the 7 day trial for Planetside. Its aw win-win situation! If the servers are full and you can find agroup of people who are fun to play with and know what they are doing the game is amazing. Or if you want to test your ultimate-stealth skills, sneak around as a cloaker, its like splinter cell, but with real people.
I don't know I haven't played the game in like 3 months, so I don't know how its changed.

I am actually going to look into Everquest a bit. My uncle has it and he says it's good. But I will try to dl Planetside (or just use my free dl [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]).

I'll check out Final Fantasy XI, but I just haven't been thrilled about it lately. What I want is a DnD MMORG. That isn't crap.

Does Planetside or FFXI allow you to pay with PayPal?

Also, I think I might wait to get my new drive (80 gig) and then dl the 7 day free Planetside, try that, then see what the reviews are like for EverQuest 2. If neither of them impress me, I'll look mroe into FFXI. If that doesn't work, I'll say screw it and buy UT2k4.

I wouldn't try Galaxies for at least another 6 months. It's that far behind.

WW2 Online has come a long way since the early dark days. It has a pretty loyal following now.

Guh! FFXI you can buy gil??

Making it so players can /buy/ money with cash is one of the most horrid dreadful gameplay decisions a an mmorpg can make. Sure it raises a lot of extra revenue, but it makes it really stupid when there becomes an enormous gap between the uber-rich super-elite who dump untold amounts of extra cash into the game, and those who try to play it just as it stands. I'm speaking from experience in Achaea which would be almost perfect aside from that.

Now that i look at it i'm thinking this isn't an official revenue:

But it still is really stupid, mmorpgs tend to suck because people tend to suck [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif]

Yeah, all games have websites like that dor, its not just FFXI. And 10k Gil, that wont buy you anything worth while (Well, standard items sure, but no +1 or high level items), so you'd need to spend like $40 to buy enough gil to get good items

I'd pick PS or EQ if I were you, reliable. Ultima wasn't very good in my standpoint, I'd go with one fo the newer MMORPGs.

Because mmorpgs evolve over time. One that sucks *** now may be great later on...this is why you really can't rely on reviews for them. Take WWII Online and Anarchy Online....both sucked pure and utter *** on release. Now, years later, both have overcome their problems and are regarded as vastly improved. This is what I hope happens with SWG.

That does happen to it. The mid-march update will do wonders to it.
