I have heard nothing to the effect of buying chocos... I also forgot to mention that I'd prefer if they allowed fighting on choco-back, adding another element to the game (not to be confused with elements like fire, though
). Also, I saw a really simply way to prevent havoc in the water/air: have only a limited supply of boats (say, 300), and airships (say, 10) per server. They should only be ownable by high-level characters (at least 30 for boats, 60 for airships). That would be essentialy the same type of approach they used for housing, just applied to transportation. Since servers are limited in number of players, you wouldn't have to worry about accomidating new players all that much... If one leaves, they leave their ship behind, allowing for a new owner.
Flare is in the game... Check any FAQ written for it. As for the magic, I don't like having all the spells be "faces in the crowd". I liked for there to a be a large selection of unique spells; the fact that you would only find a specific effect in one "flavor" meant that there was a definitive way to defend against each specific spell... I don't mind not seing meteo/meteor/ultima, as they are un-blockable spells. However, I would have liked to see the spells from FF VI. Quake was the only spell in there that using "Float" would make you immune. "Flare" pierced every defense except a reflect spell. "Merton" would kill everybody, but having fire armor (making you weak to water), would have the spell heal the party. Now, a black mage can have a full repetoire of spells that have very little variance, aside from their strength and element.
I also disaprove of them making two of each type of spell: one for single target, on for multi-target. The variable-mode spell was one of the things that I really liked about FF, and it's elimination for the sake of simplicity (pressing another button for multi-target) makes me sad, as it put FF down with lesser RPGs.
There's never enough classes when you've got tens of thousands of people playing on a single server. Currently, there are only 15 classes. I think that there could be a lot more, such as the Blue Wizard and the Mystic Knight. I don't think that having more classes would make it more "hectic" at all. In fact, it would probably provide more balance, by lowering the percentage of all abilities a player may utilize with one character, making parties more powerful compared to single players than previously.
