Yeah, that's about how much it costs here in South CA. The 87 octane is about $2.10

In Finland, the 95 octane is currently around $1.40 US per liter.

According to onlineconversion.com:

tell me about it. Here in cali, we're getting screwed by the oil industries. We have to buy a special MTBE-free gas that is naturally more expensive. They just raised the price 10 cents; I've seen $2.20 for regular.

There's still MTBE gas in Ca. They'll be switching over to an ethanol additive soon, but they haven't yet.

How do you see yourself getting screwed by the oil industry in California? It's not them, its the state government. The state requires CARB gasoline which is harder to make and therefore much more expensive. The no MTBE thing is also coming from the state and has nothing to do with the oil industry.

Yes, but that's because of government-imposed taxes. The U.S., to my understanding, doesn't tax nearly what European countries do.

It angers me how americans think we get such high gas prices some times. WE HAVE THE CHEAPEST GAS IN THE WORLD. I was in Mexico once and one time we payed 800 pesos or $80 for gas.

Spork, have to remember that our "normal" petrol is 91/92 octane, our premium is 95 and the "high performance" stuff is 98+... so that can make a difference.

It hovers around $0.78 - $0.89 AUD per litre here... beats walking.
2004-02-29, 5:46 AM #30
Wow, $0.78 is cheap, almost never see it that low. 85 cents per litre is cheap here, 95 cents on weekends.
