Can anyone suggest a free, repeat free XP theme config program? Something like StyleXP, Windowblinds, or whatnot, that is good and FREE? Remember, it must be FREE. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

...FREE FREE FREE...

And to make this legal in a way, and so more people post here, post your XP theme! I just deleted mine, so I can't. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Boo! Down with themes! Themes eat memory, I like memory.

WindowBlinds will keep working past the trial period.

StyleXP does as well, I think...

And as long as we are posting desktops...

Whoops, that doesn't actually show any windows in it, does it? Oh well, heh. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

StyleXP does not work past the trial period, that's why I'm not using it (I used it past the trial period already), and I'm not using WindowBlinds because it conflicts with other programs and makes them not work. Plus the ad at startup every time is annoying.
DO NOT WANT.

Meh, I don't turn WindowBlinds off, I don't care [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Phear my almost 3 week uptime. ^_^

And I haven't really found any app incompatibilities with WindowBlinds... except if you use the rollup feature in some skins that don't support it, you get a BSoD. .'/

[Edit: I would have patched my uxtheme.dll file, but it didn't work for me, despite the fact I met the requirements. The patch failed, saying I had an invalid version... maybe uxtheme.dll was updated by a microsoft patch somewhere down the line, that was incompatible with the theme patcher. I dunno.]

[Edit: Yay, Sol uses Firefox. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]]

[http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] I made the switch yesterday, I now see why IE sucks. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Too bad my dad would never let me remove IE, he's an old foogie that doesn't like change. :/

You couldn't remove IE anyway. If I recall correctly, it's built into the OS in several places. There is NO way to remove it without really screwing up Windows.

Again, take that with a grain of salt, that's only with I remember.

Well you could muck around in the regristry and such, but you might start to really mess some things up.

He speaks truth. It's best to just make the other browser the default for everything, and just ignore IE.

Windowblinds is gorgeous......
except that it maxes out my cpu to 100% and eats enormous amounts of memory while it's running [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif]

Stylexp is about the best i've found for such things, as xp innate support for them is horrible [and i to was incapable as above of getting my uxtheme.dll patched as it claimed]. Sometime i may get around to posting a shot of my new style.

Well by removing, I just meant removing the icon from the desktop. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] Windows Update "needs" IE anyways so I wouldn't remove it.

I'd never, EVER use StyleXP or any non-freeware program from that company. They are worse than Microsoft when it comes to business.

I use a patched uxtheme.dll.

Poke around in the Control Panels. I remember seeing an option to remove icons from the desktop somewhere. XP is not my OS at home, I use Win2K.
