Is there any way to make it by default open links that would otherwise open in a new browser window in a new tab? This is the ONLY thing about this browser that bothers me.

Tabbrowser Preferences can open all links from within FF in new tabs

Tabbrowser Extension can open all links in new tabs (it is more powerful, but it may also cause problems)

TBE is the best thing EVAR... Puts the tabs at the bottom where they belong... so much control... /me salivates.

I havent used IE in about a month. I LOVE FireFox. You know, I would actually buy it if they started to charge.

I doubt that they would. See, the code is open source and is floating around the web so it wouldnt be long until a free firefox clone came out if they began charging for the actual firefox.
