Or something along those lines. This is quite an interesting article, and not terribly surprising really.

I don't recall anything called "Viewpoint Media Player" on my comp nor does AIM install Wild Tangent by itself; it prompts you to download Wild Tangent when you click the games button.

When I read it I said 'meh, that sounds about right.'

Glad I use trillian.

Never installed any spyware on my PC. And it's updated to the latest version, too. Oh well, looks like it's not as easy to make fun of them after all. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

By the way, has anyone else actually checked to see if the stuff is on their computer?

I checked, it was there.

It was weird - I tried deleting it earlier but I didn't know where it kept coming back from. I knew it was spyware using my spyware-sense, but I didn't know why it kept coming back.

...Then I saw this article.

I use DeadAIM, well worth the 5 bucks, or many other various AIM clones.

I have the latest version of AIM installed but didn't find either of these programs in a search. I prefer using GAIM, but AIM seems to work better for file transfers.

I use trillian. And this topic isn't "Old N3wz", its common sense.

Using deadaim doesnt matter. I use AIM 5.2, which doesn't have it. It auto installs when you install AIM 5.5 though.

Also, buck, you might consider aimutation, since its free.
