Passion makes 27 million opening day.

And right now it's made 117.8 Million Dollars.

Wow.

How much do you think it will make? I still want to see this movie. Hopefully next weekend, this weekend I was too busy. Do you think by word of mouth it will get more? Or will is go down ALOT by next weekend?

It'll go down, now that all the church groups have seen it.

And the funny thing is...I don't think Gibson made the movie just to make money.

The international figures could be interesting for Jesus Chainsaw Massacre, with the subtitles and all for once it's a blockbuster that doesnt just target the American market.

That's right. He made this movie to get back in tough with his religion (catholic). He claims that in his movie history, he has fallen very far from God and his religion, so he tried to get back up there. He did this in light of Hollywood's OMG_NO attitude toward these types of movies.

I saw it last Friday;

I just remembered hearing the guy who played Jesus was struck by lightning twice during the filming. Anyone else hear that?

I paid for three people to go see the movie just hoping they would die. Didn't like them anyways.

I don't know about twice but he was struck by lightening at least once.

I remember reading somewhere that one of the actors/workes was struck twice, but I can't recall who it was...

Ah, the greatest story ever sold.

I haven't read the book, cause it would spoil the movie knowing how it ends. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

You didn't spoil the BIG secret, though:

GOD: "No, Jesus, *I* am your father"

I was a bit disappointed that they ripped a plot line straight from star wars, though...

Yes, but you have to remember, for a significant portion of the movie the actor who plays Jesus is basically set up as a large lightning rod.

Pfft, lightning rod, shmitling rod. Jim just wasn't pulling his weight on the set. God was making sure he was getting his lines right, and all that.

I could just see a big-shot producer wailing, gnashing his teeth, and ripping his clothing like Caiphus in the film.
