What happens when the round starts and you have 32 avid wannabe paratroopers but only one transport with only 7 seats?

You cram them in like sardines! (Warning! 4 screenshots resized into 800*600 in one 308kb 1600*1200 jpeg)

I love the poor guys out on the wings! This was just so spontaneously innocent fun that I couldn't stop grinning even while we floated down through heavy AA and rifle fire in a chain of several dozen blooming parachutes. Fortunately I got to ride twice more since it took me two plummets (one plane blown out of the sky by AA, another green-light jump) to realize that the AT-Rifle Panzerbüsche kit doesn't come with a parachute [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] . Everyone on the Axis team agreed that it just wouldn't have been the same on a 32 player or smaller server.

Anyone else want to share any recent amusing multiplayer stuff they've witnessed?

Hmm, hadn't thought of that, but you're right. No one has a parachute [http://forums.massassi.net/html/eek.gif]
Luckily what you don't see either, since I removed the hud, was that everyone was constantly spamming random voice commands. Random until the light went green when everyone started spamming "BAIL OUT! (in german)" in unison. Quite a cacophany of sounds, even without the engines' roar or flak blasts.

On a Tribes 2 64 player server I've also seen some strange stuff, like the opposing team making a giant stacked player tower o' defense. It looked pretty amusing to try to cap the flag, and see this wonky stack of players suddenly open fire simultaneously and fall apart. Sometimes you'd even get a temporary ceasefire going and start a stack of both teams forming one tower, or a human pyramid, or something equally strange.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

Bet he can fit a hefty bone through that hole.

It's BF1942, with the Forgotten Hope 0.61 mod on the Crete map.

If the pilot "bails" without pressing primary fire (opens hatch & lights green cabin jump-light) then he's stuck in the compartment with everybody else if no one else notices and takes control. Only the guys on the wings would survive in that case. See for this plane, you board by pressing use, then you pressed use again so that you would stand in the middle so that more people would fit. The bail-out exit location is in the cabin, so you have to walk to the hatch yourself and walk out once it's open in order to get out.

So, in that game, you can actually FLY the plane? Or man an AA gun and SHOOT the plane? CoD wont let you do that. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

I have never played that mod, but in every other BF1942 mod Ive played if you're standing in the plane (not physically attached anywhere with E) and deploy your parachute, you just get kinda shooted out the back of the plane.

Hmmm. Just tested that map in solo. Apparently the hatch opens automatically once a certain airspeed is attained. The pilot bails out on the wing. The paratroopers can indeed open their parachtes inside the plane provided the plane is falling steeply enough but they seem to get stuck inside the collision cage and they kind of float up to the aft end get dragged down along. Once the plane crashes, they'd take some damage from the explosion, but they'd be out of the plane and more or less safe and sound.

Iiinteresting.
