Okay, I know SOMEONE here has played this game before. So I ask the question--does anyone know how to set up their own server? I'm planning on using a comp to set up a server, and play with me and my friends. However, I can't get past first base. Any help would be appreciated. BTW, I'm using 1.28 so it's not illegal to set up a server. Helpage please

I just tried graal 1.28 server. Got it working no problem, I just had to create an account for myself.

I MIGHT have that on my old harddrive that sits in my closet (the old levels, I mean). Not sure if it still works though, it's been collecting dust for years.

I still play graal sometimes when I'm bored. When they began charging, it used to be that you only had to pay for gold servers, but classic servers were still free. Well, when I was a paying customer of the gold servers, they decided to make classic servers pay-to-play, also, but they made a rule that anyone who was already a paying customer of the gold servers would have the classic servers for free, even after their subscription ran out. . . so I still can get on classic servers for free

It's still fun to get on and run around PKing sometimes when I'm bored

Sounds good, if you could get me ahold of that level pack, that'd be great. Also, for levels, where do I put the sounds and .gifs?? I know I put the levels in with the server .exe, but where do I put the sounds and .gifs for those levels.

actually the levels go in the levels DIR and the sounds go in the sounds DIR.

Gifs for the levels go in the Levels\gifs folder

Yeah, mostly everything goes in a self-explanitory directory inside the levels folder. We should have a hostile massassi takeover of the graal classic server someday...

edit- I have a better idea. Lets have a massassi server, with a star wars atmosphere!

Lets do it. I mean, seriously... lets make a Massassi server. I want to help, too. I've never completed a JK project in my life, but Graal stuff is something I can do. I've made levels just out of boredom, and definately graphics... I've made a few heads, swords, and shields, and even bomys for Graal 2001, and the trenchcoat body that they use now (body12) was mine also.
Plus I've always wanted to be staff (hint hint )... I was FAQ on Graal 2001 for a while, but we never got any neato abilities or even any authority... all we got to do was sit around and answer dumb peoples questions... but it was still kindof fun, I guess, for all the wrong reasons.

If it's 2001 i'll see if I can borrow someone credit card to finally (I've been meaning to do it for years) upgrade my account.

an up-to-date playerworld would be really cool because we could utilize all the spiffy features that have been added since version 1.28, but it'll cost money...
So, I don't know. I'll let somebody else worry about all of this kind of stuff

I found some JK arena levels available for 1.30 or 1.28 servers. Here's the Link Obviously old, tailors to UT and Graal, but it looks interesting. Tell me what you think XD. But yah if I can get this set up, once I get a job I could run another cable line, or DSL with high upload if I can find a good provider, to my old comp which is more than sufficient to be a 20-30 person server. If more come, well we can always find other alternatives.

Yah, that's not the hard part. The hard part is making sure all the levels work with each other...and well actually GETTING the levels.
