Well, bicentennial man was a short story and they extended that into quite a good movie, in my opinion.

Yes it is. I, Robot...hrmm I've read like 50+ Asimov stories. Gotta remember which one it was. I thought the one where the robot was blamed for killing was a different one..eh...could be wrong.

I never enjoyed Asimov very much, but the movie looks cool.

Um i'm pretty sure Bicentennial Man was based on The Positronic Man. Outstanding book, horrible movie; i think the main problem is they tried to make it a comedy and it lost any grasp on intelligence or depth.

I've read Bicentenial Man, and its very similar to the movie. Perhaps the movie was based on both?

Darn, I was thinking of the murder mystery Caves of Steel. I guess R. Daneel won't be in this one after all.

I'm very unoptimistic about this.. i mean we've already had to deal with abominations like the bicentennial man, and the 'remake' of battlestar galactica.. [no leather capes! no cigars!!]

well, at least one other person agrees with me... Then again i didn't read the story, so i guess i was able to judge it from an unbiased angle.

What the hell is that new movie that looks like crap, with Jude law and Jolie. It's like "Captain Kid and the big cheesey robot gang" or something.

Evad please don't ever use AI and Bicentennial Man in the same sentence. AI was brilliant, well until Kubrick died and Spielberg took over and then it kinda wandered aimlessly for half an hour or so, but the ending was still great.

Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow is going to be awesome in ways that nobody has previously known awesome could be. How can you not dig the style? Classic 1930s sci-fi, and they're doing it completely honestly - They're striving to keep it from feelign camp. That's beautiful.
