Well, if not, you can find out more at their Site. So look at it, and I want to know what you would ask for, if you had a life threatening medical conditions.

And after looking at some other wishes, I think my wish would be the kind of the "I want to be" wishes. I would want to be a computer graphic artist. Then I thought about the stuff I'd need for it, and he's the list that I came up with. If you have any idea's that I forgot, go ahead and tell me about it.

Also, if you had that power, what would you wish for?

So here is my list.

Yes, it's not for kids who simply cannot "play basketball", it's for kids who "can't play basketball because they're dying from a medical condition." My step-dad is a hot air balloon pilot and we gave a kid free rides a few times through out the year through Make-A-Wish, his wish was spent on us. Unfortunately he died last year from brain tumors. It's a great organization though, and people really should support it.

Well, I might be able to get a wish. I do have a life-threatening medical condition, I have cancer. You can't cure it. I'm not dying though. With all the prayers, chemo, radiation, platelet tranfusions, and blood tranfusions, my tumor seems to be diminishing slowly. I believe that God is healing me, and he has shown me awesome stuff.

I volenteered for this for 3 years. It's a good orginazation.

One of the kids died before we gave him his wish [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

One kid made it, and is doing well. We had a present unveiling bash at his house, was lots of fun. Kid got a huge playground.

I had cancer about 5 years ago, and I got to do the Make-A-Wish thing. At the time I wanted my own computer, so I got that, plus some games (Quake II and MotS, IIRC) and stuff. Not having a very serious form of cancer (if you could consider any type of cancer as not being serious, I suppose) I didn't ask for anything real fancy (I have an overactive conscience, and at St. Jude I saw a lot of people worse off than I was).

In hindsight, making a wish for a computer wasn't that great. Sure, I got my own computer, but making a wish for a computer's not memorable, it's utilitarian. Besides, I've since replaced it (actually, I'm going to give it to my sister to take to college now that I've got like 1 or 2 other old systems that I've put together from used parts).

If I had it to do over again, I'd probably go for something like meeting someone famous. As a computer geek and a gamer, I'd probably wish to visit a software or game company, like iD or Microsoft or Wizards of the Coast.

Anyway, that's just my $0.02. Hope your treatment goes well for you.

There are some things that you to tell others, and there are other things that you keep to yourself... is it really that difficult to figure out which is which?

i normally don't like people to revive old threads... but this seemed appropriate.

this thread really shows what kind of guy MaDa was... thinking about others even though he had a terminal illness.

he was so positive all the time and especially in his last post on this thread... I wish he had been going into remission.

Rest in peace, Adam.

This is really inspiring, man, Mada was a really great guy wasn't he. I think I'm going to ride my bike to town (I'm not old enough to drive) and pick out a few of those angels from the Christmas tree, that have the names and gifts that the less fortunet kids want. Thanks for reviving this thread, and God bless Mada's soul.

It was an innocent comment. Let's not blow anything out of proportion.
I think I was somehow involved in this foundation or something like it when I was a kid. After I had my surgery for my brain tumor when I was 4, I got a free trip to Disney World, and had some pin that let me go to the front of the lines all the rides. I'm pretty sure it was Make-A-Wish that hooked me up with that.
