Paranormal stories
2004-03-14, 3:26 PM #1
After reading Emon's "haunted monitor" post. I became interested in reading stories regarding the supernatural. So any of you have any paranormal stories with ghosts, demons, bloody marys, loch ness monster, etc? Those Ouija boards made by Milton Bradley, why are they always associated with conjuring spirits? A ploy by Milton Bradley to sell more Ouija boards?

I was once telling my friends that I always broke even. As an example, I reached in my wallet and gave my friend 20 bucks. As I put on my jacket, I found a 20 dollar bill in the pocket.

Oh wait. That was an episode of Sienfeld.

Nothing paranormal ever happens to me. The green men make sure of that..

I've had a several. 2 in my old house, like 4 in my new house. Ill start with my old house. Ill tell you about the history and the expirence's, you judge wether you think there real or not.
In my first house it was rumored to have been a sight of a murder, however no one had any proof because there was no proof that somthing happend. The rumor was, back in the 1940 somebody was buried alive as a murder act underneath the kitchen. The house got sold to my grandparents, fresh out of college, fresh into marriage. They said that until my twin and I were born everything was relativly quiet, you know, the occasional pot or pan falling from the kitchen counter. When that happend however, things started going hectic.Fast foward 9 years later, they pulled out a picture of the man who was suspected to have buried the other man whoms names I have not dared to find out. I looked like, back then, that man. I woke up several nights later a bigass butcher knife over me. The 2nd one is remotley close however more stranger. 3 months later same thing. However after floating for 3 seconds somthing litteraly made that thing fall out of whatever was holding that butcher knife, I just felt a presence of good around me never to be felt again, except once. We moved out of that house apparently. In my new house the first 3 are relativley simple. A homework assignment would be lost, on the day due it would appear by my computer table conviently. The 4rth was my grandpa had died, and I was sitting in bed just staring, feeling so sad because I was not able to do anything about then. I just feel this...hand on me and a...voice I cannot describe saying that it was gonna be ok.
After that nothing relativley bad has happend, however the first evil spirit that found me is probably out there, hunting for me and my twin.

I have two, actually. The first takes place at my school. It was in 6th grade, and we had just finished our Gym class. We were in the locker room changing, when suddenly the lights went out. There's only 1 lightswitch, and no one was near it. Then, an entire row of about 10-11 lockers swung open and shut several times at the exact same time. A couple kids freaked out, the lights flickered back on, and that was it. Not terribly exciting, but still scary at the time.

The second is what I would consider a UFO sighting. I was out jogging last summer, about mid-June, when I see a light flash across the sky. I figured it was a falling star, so I watched it fall. Then it just stopped, and was completely still for about 2-3 seconds. Then it started moving again, but this time perpendicular to its' original course. I traced it for a few more seconds, and then it dissapeared behind a treeline. Again, nothing really exciting. What can I say, I live a boring life.

Well, i am not sure how paranormal this is but....

I had a dream about my two friends having a conversation at lunch, wile i just sat there eating, and a few days later, the almost excat conversation took place.

I can't say it was word for word, cuz i don't think it was, but the subject and many things one of my friends broguth up were the same.

That happened to me once and it was so accurate that I actually KNEW word for word what they were going to say to eachother for about 5 sentences. It freaked me out... Like, I would say what I remembered them saying in my head and THEN they said it.

I can't think of any paranormal things that have happened to me, but a few wierd occurances have happened to me and my friends. One time we were driving around in the country when we took a wrong turn and ended up at the end of a dead-end road with a single farmhouse. Suddenly, this guy burst out of the house with a search light (and probably a shotgun in the other hand). Without even turning around I floored the gas and we sped off in reverse. The guy chased us for a good mile down the road until we finaly put enough distance between us and him so that I could turn around.

We also got my car stuck one winter on an unplowed dirt road, next to an old cemetary... Later we found out that the spot we got stuck was the site of a revolutionary war battle, and the cemetary also had civil war soldiers buried in it. On top of that, when we looked up the area on one of those satelite photo websites (terraserver I think) there was nothing but a black square covering the entire area. We immediately assumed it was part of some gov't coverup... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Also, I work in the summer at a day camp... Like any good summer camp, it meets the prereqs for sketchyness. It has an old farmhouse foundation, an old overgrown graveyard, and an airplane wreck (it was a suicide), all hidden away in the woods. In addition, one summer an arts/crafts class made a bunch of blair-witch-like figures out in the woods... except this was a few years before the movie was made. The figures took on a whole new meaning after the movie came out.... though they are gone now unfortunately.

Plenty of strange things go on there at night... because its at the base of a cliff that faces east, it gets dark there very early, a good 1-2 hours before the normal sunset in the area. You hear lots of noises there at night, doors slamming, etc.

One summer, my friend and I were camping out, and as we were walking around in the middle of the night, we kept hearing noises as if someone was following us. We shrugged it off as our imaginations acting up on us. Later on, we found out that there had been a guy living up near the cliff side in a makeshift hut, armed with several machetes. At night he would come down into the camp and scavenge for supplies. The state police came and arrested "machete-man" (the name we dubbed him with), but I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt spend very long in prison (if he served any time at all) and came back to roam around those woods again... We actually have a video tape of that night we heard someone following us, I'll have to see if I can get a hold of it from my friend and rip it into divx or something.

I saw a erpson walking down the street a week back, his coat waving against the wind. I found it a bit odd, but passed on. Later that day, my mother dropped a photo on the floor hich was that exact same man. My grandfather when he was around 35 years old, to be exact. Creeps me out, he died a year back.

I also tend to get cold shivers if someone I know has died, before even knowing who it was.

Since Axis is to lazy to post his story, I'll post it for him. Thank you email! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif]

Here's the story:

I was spending the night at my Indian (from India) freind's house and his
dad came in, mumbled some Hindu chant, whiped funny white powder on his face
and told me it was "to keep away bad dreams and bad spirits" or something
like that. It might have just been bad dreams.

So I was laying at the foot of his bed, and had my head against a pillow so
I could see out the door in front of me. (His bedroom door was open) We
talked for a while, since that's usually what people do at sleep-overs and
then we had gotten quiet for a while. I was just laying there, but I had my
glasses off so couldn't see well. Something white and blurry kinda peered
into the room. It was at the height of someone sticking there head out to
look into the room. I was not afraid, but was instead extremely curious. It
popped in and out several times over a period of about two minutes. I kept
thinking "What is this? It's almost like something looking in here at us..."
I was extemely struck with curiousity and was pondering if I should go to
the door and investigate. Well after watching it bob it's head in, look at
me, and then look out for quite some time, I concluded that I could not
explain it. (i.e. a peice of paper stuck the the wall the was merely blowing
around) so I asked Aruhn (my freind) if he saw. He was like "What the heck
are you talking about dude. Trying to scare me, eh? and then all of the
sudden he saw it and screamed really loud, then his dad came running into
the room. The next morning we searched the hall/his door but could find
nothing to explain it.
My two regrets?
1) That I didn't have my glasses on and only got a blurred image that felt
like something was curiously peeking in on us.
2) That I didn't get up and go into the hallway to find out what it was.

Paranormal stuff usually doesn't happen to me, but I often get a sense of Deja-Vu. I think it's from dreams that I've had, and something similar happens in real life. Or maybe I'm just precognitive. Or something.

This one time, at band camp...

...Maybe I won't tell that one.

I remember as a little kid I'd look out at the bushes by my window and get scared on windy nights because the branches and stuff of the bush made it look like a lion's head. I thought this giant lion was like looking at me from the bushes the whole night and I couldn't sleep.

Mine are kinda stupid.

1. When I was very young, I would get put to bed early, but since my bed was positioned in such a way that I could look out a crack in the door and watch what was happening, I often would. One time, I had a dream that we had the extended family over for a party of some kind. As usual, I had to go to bed early (even in my dream!). So I'm watching the party, and suddenly a monster picks up the house and starts eating it (Subway in MIB2 style). I watch while it eats most of the house, my family, the stuff in my room, and finally me. Then I woke up. Now, that would be a completely normal toddler's dream, except that several years later there was cartoon and action figure line (Toxic Crusaders, I think) in which the main character was identical to the monster in my dream. Was it coincidence? Or prophetic of the irrelevant?

2. Several years ago, I caught a TV program on one of our local channels, in which a guy was saying that the ancients used to believe that a comet was a warning, four years in advance, of a calamity that God would send (the point being that they would have that time to shape up and avoid the judgement). I was reminded of this when Hale-Bopp showed up in '97, and thought idly that this was the perfect chance to see first hand whether the four-year thing was superstition or not. I then proceeded to forget about it until early September 2001, actually just a day or two before the 11th. It still has me wondering.

I have Deja-Vu like, atleast once every week. Sometimes serious stuff. Like, once I saw myself getting a C- on a Math test, in another one of my day dreams, in which I'm bad at math. A few days later, BOOM! A get a C-. I normally get B's and A's and such. Also, conversations that have I think have happened, really happen later on.

I sometimes scare myself even. I think I'm in trouble with myself?

One night in eigth or ninth grade at around 2 in the morning, our dog (who sleeps in my parents' bedroom) woke up and walked to the doorway. My mom woke up with him and saw him wagging his tail as he walked toward the doorway. She said he seemed excited. He stared out into the hall for a few seconds, then his tail dropped inbetween his legs and he began shaking and barking very loudly and very wildly but wouldn't walk past the doorway. My mom (I can't remember whether or not my stepdad was woken up, but I don't think he was, for some reason) walked out to where our dog was standing and said that the whole hallway was lit up in an a kind of orange glow, which was coming in through the window of the hall bathroom. She walked out into the hall, and Ike followed her, and ran to my doorway and started barking at my door. Then he stopped shaking and barking, and the light went away. He sniffed once under my door, and walked back into her room. My mom went into my room to check on me, but there wasn't anything unusual. I slept through the whole thing and had no clue this had even happened until she told me that afternoon. Now, one of the weirder parts of this is that at 12:30, I distinctly remembered waking up and having to use the bathroom, which I did. I am 100% positive I closed the bathroom doors (there are two of them) because I remember as I was leaving and I shut the door, it banged against the doorframe louder than I intended and I remember thinking "I hope that didn't wake anybody up." When my mom walked out into the hall, the doors were open, and that's where the light was coming from.

Wow. That was long.

Anyway, another interesting tidbit. I'm not sure if this is purely random coincidence or not, but on the news that day there was a short, like, 30 second story that an air force base near Washington DC (I live in Annapolis) scrambled several jets which chased an unidentified radar blip which was described as a UFO on the news at approximately the same time that this all happened in my house.

Hm.. other paranormal stories.. My mom used to run a nightclub/inn that had history dating back to the civil war (it was used as a hospital) and was also a stop on the underground railroad. There was a fake wall in one of the rooms. It was also haunted, books being misplaced, doors opening/slamming, lights turning on, etc. My mom always refused to go down into the basement because before the civil war slaves used to be kept down there, and there were shackles on the wall. Kinda creepy.

I don't have any paranomal stories of my own for the supernatural don't seem want to have anything with me. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] However, my good friend has told me a few.

One of his relatives used to own a house not that far away from me. This house is known for an ill reputation. Murders have occured in that house. Well, he was over the house and all of a sudden a scratching sound is heard from the window. It wasn't a shrub or bush for it wasn't present or too far away from window. They investigate the window, and upon looking, they see these bright, glowing, red "eyes." Immediately my friend's dad and I believe his brother run outside to the window and nothing was seen. Their dog had been barking at something around back. So it was sent to chase out whatever was there. This dog was also know for being quite tough and fearless. When the dog comes back, the tail is tucked well underneath and was just completly frightened.

Everytime I go over to my grandmother's house. I sleep in the same room that both my grandfather and great-grandmother had died. At first it was a little unnerving but I fell asleep easily. But lately, when I go over there, I swear that if I get this feeling that as soon as I pop open those eyes of mine and spring up, that I would see a figure that looks like my grandfather. Couple of times it's actually made me go into another room.

And those are my stories for the day.

The only weird thing for me is that before 9/11, (maybe for about a year or two before it), whenever I thought to look at the clock in the evening, it was at 9/11. I almost never went a night without looking at the clock indiscriminantly when it was at 9:11. After 9/11, it stopped.
