Let's start with the bad stuff:
Firstly, there is the issue of balancing. The M60 blows every other gun away. I honestly don't know what they were thinking. With the 2nd M60 kit, you not only get a tremendously powerful gun (that also happens to have a 100 bullet magazine)and a medkit, but also a LAW (the perfect anti-tank weapon). It doesn't get any better than that. You can't but wonder why anyone would ever use another weapon.
Secondly, the graphics are not all they've been made out to be. The game looks better than BF1942, but aside from the models, there really isn't a big difference. In fact, some textures are disgustingly low res. Also note that AA/AF will likely cause corruption in the game. Even bigger issues come with the game's sound engine. With most cards, there is a problem where you can't hear distant explosions or gun fire. Sometimes this goes as far as not hearing a guy shooting right next to you. The only kown sound card that doesn't have this bug (?) is the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, the card I own. With it, the sounds in the game are great, but unless a quick fix is found, this might be one issue convincing you to wait for a patch.
Thirdly, the performance of the engine and netcode. As a general warning, I had no trouble playing BF1942 with 512 DDR Ram, but in BFV, I get some stuttering from time to time, especially when flying large distances quickly. I have a very efficient configuration and virtually no background services. I'm going to try messing around with some settings to see if there's an improvement. The netcode is slightly awkard as well. The fact that your walking speed is affected by your actions (zooming in or firing will slow you do) is not handled well by the netcode, giving walking a sort of laggy feel online, even with a low ping. I got used to this quickly however, but it's a bit annoying regardless.
Aside from these annoyances, I can say that the game is still a blast. The soundtrack is amazing, the weapons "feel" great (with better looks, animations and sound effects, especially apparent on the M60), the maps are well designed and overall the game is a ton of fun. I love the little additions (the new capture-o-meter, helicopters...). It's definately worth a look.
