Paranormal Computer Activity

Have you ever been using your computer happily, and suddenly something strange or unexplainable happened? I have two examples.

First, on the computer I'm at now, I'll be using the computer, when suddenly the screen with flash to a colored screen. Typically it's one main color with others streaked vertically at random places. The choice of the colors is dependent on what I happened to be looking at, and both times, it happened while I was on the internet. *shrug* The only way to get out of it (that I know of) is to reset the computer.

The other thing is something I've noticed randomly. I noticed it specifically while playing Tetris for Windows (awesomest Tetris version ever, imo) that the hard drive suddenly randomly started spinning really fast. THis happened to occur at precisely the moment that my florescent light flickered and dimmed. For the record, there's no way there's any viruses or spyware on the laptop because it is super old and *never* goes on the internet, and was formatted recently and just about the only software installed is Best of Entertainment pack (hence Tetris). Anyway, I continued playing Tetris for a while as the drive kept spinning, and then abruptly it stopped. To my knowledge there was nothing to make it do that...

Anywaypost your paranormal computer activities and possible explanations.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Well the first paranormal PC activity I encountered was when my computer would turn itself on. It was late, and I couldn't keep my eyes open much longer. So, I decided to go to bed. I went through the shut down process, and then turned off my monitor. So it's nice and quiet, all I could hear was myself untying my shoes.

As I was doing so, I heard this click, then my CPU fans turned on. I looked up and the green power light was all I could focus on. So, I stood up slowly and approached my computer. I was expecting to turn the monitor on and see 666 in dark red letters, but all I saw was the Windows splash screen. Naturally I turned it back off, then sat back down to untie my shoes.

Then a few minutes later, I hear the click and the now haunting sound of my CPU fans. While I thought my computer was posessed by some ancient demon spirit that I had awakened, it turns out that it was a faulty network cable. There was an electrical signal being sent that was just powerful enough to switch it on. That's the only explination I could figure, based off of a test I did. The demon stopped awakening from his slumber when I unplugged the network cable.

The second one is my current CD-ROM drive; it likes to close itself. Not quickly, as if I were pressing the button twice, but rather a few moments after I've opened it. Touching Evil is on...
