Leaving college
2004-03-19, 8:14 AM #1
Yep, I'm currently trying to take care of the paperwork needed to withdraw from my college. Then I have to pack my stuff and tell my friends that I am leaving, I don't know how to do it.

In this last semester I have been sick alot, sterssed out and unmotivated. I made a decision while I was home for spring break that I will leave the school I am currently attending to try to, in the fall, get into a school close to my home for a degree in Culinary Arts. I thought it was stressful enough just to try to make that decision, let alone the stress and headaches that are coming from trying to leave.

This has always been a kind community (and skip the remarks saying otherwise, you guys know that it is true), I know I would appreciate a few words of support despite the fact that for years here I have been only a lurker.

It's ok, that college just wasn't for you. At least you're going back to another college to get a degree in something, which is better than a lot of college dropouts do. Lots of people switch colleges.

Just out of curiousity, what were you majoring in?

Exactly what is the reason?

Homesickness? The people or professors sucked? The town?

Well, my reasons are many, the most important two being since I've been sick so often, I am no longer doing well in my classes, and there aren't any degree programs at my current school that interest me.

I almost left college in my first year.
Couldn't bring myself to do it though.

I hope it works out for you.

College has been a blast for me. It's like Animal House, but with Christians and making decent grades and lame, weak pranks. But it's still fun. It was definitely a good change for my life.

Yeah...if you take a break from school, do something useful with your time. If you sit around at your parents' house all day, do something productive. I would say get a job, but that could make things worse than if you stayed in school.
