Civ3 bots don't like me
2004-03-20, 9:32 AM #1
I've recently started playing Civ3 again. But I keep having retard computer players encroach on my territory (I have it surrounded by my cultural lines, though it isn't officially claimed) and start cities. I want to run over these bots, but I don't want to piss off the other puter players. Whenever you declare war, all the other countries hate you, no matter how honorable you are about it. Is there anyway to get around this so the other puters don't hate me? I thought that maybe by getting the other guy to start the war, that might help. The only way I can see that happening is by constantly demanding tribute from him or by parking on their land and ignoring their requests to move. Any ideas?

Don't leave gaps in your territory
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

Easier said than done in the early game.

I read a thing at gamefaqs and it said to never sell any of your maps if you want dominion over a large area and are working towards it. *smacks forehead*

also, for some reason Cleopatra and Joan seem to be on their period whenever I play....

Civ3 AI start with the whole map already explored, I think. Selling your maps is a great way to get money, techs, etc., and it doesn't really benifet whoever you give it to.

It does and it doesn't. The AI has to have knowledge of a given tile to do anything with it just like you do, but it knows what to search for.
