I realize I can't really get a concrete answer for this, but a best guess will do. Will a Radeon 9600XT 128MB be able to run the following games at say, high - highest detail at 1024x768? Thanks for your help.

- Far Cry
- Half Life 2
- Doom 3

Also, if I end up buying this card, how long would you figure until I needed to upgrade again?

That kinda depends on what else you got under the hood.

Nice, thanks alot. OK next question, I'll probably be buying off of PriceWatch, so which one of these brands would be best?

- Celestica
- Connect3D
- Gigabyte
- Sapphire

I've heard alot of bad stuff about Sapphire, so I'm guessing I'll probably be going with the Celestica, Connect3D, or Gigabyte.

You'd be better off to look somewhere else for a Hercules.

Not really, When I bought my 9800, the hercules was £10 more than the sapphire card of the same model.

If not a Hercules, Gigabyte is a good brand. I dunno how the Sapphire 9600XTs hold up, but i know the 9800 Pro Sapphire's are actually decent. I've heard a few complaints, but mostly from people who got resold cards.

The Connect3D card comes with the Half Life 2 coupon, so right now I'm considering getting that, seeing as its only $5 more than the Gigabyte.
