Well, I just updated and ran Ad-Aware, and it found 100 new objects, and all of them were WildTangent registry keys, folders, and files, all installed by the newest version of AOL instant messenger.

So, anyone have any good alternatives to AIM?

ICQ and AIM now work interchangably. You can have your AIM buddies on your ICQ list, and vice versa.

GAIM and Trillian are undoubtedly the best, GAIM is slightly worse in windows, and Trillian is much worse in Linux. Trillian is nice for windows though, especially Win2k+

They both support xfers, but I think only Trillian supports Direct IM. Check it out though.

Expound on this. I know you can do it in Gaim, but i haven't heard that you could do this with Trillian or the actual clients.
