....it's so much easier to get a game demo or patch from a torrent than it is to wait in line for 6 days at Fileplanet and get 4 kb/s.

My ISP has an awesome gaming site which always has all cool demos, movie previes, patches, mods, updates available for me to downlod at 500kb/s+ within an hour or two of them being released.

It's the fileplanet exclusive thing, though. Like MMORPG free trials and game patches and junk. It's really annoying.

My ISP has an agreement with Fileplanet, most exclusives they get are mirrored within a day or two.

Which reminds me, I need to find a better BT client. The one I have now is utter crap, and I'm not entirely sure why I've used it as long as I have... Laziness, I guess...

I agree. I remember when fileplanet DIDN'T suck.

But bittorrent is an excellent way to download demos. I love it. (assuming i don't get raped, that is. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] )

BT works for me. That's how I got the UT2k4 and Far Cry Demos.

Shadow's client is the best. Azureus and ABC have nice features, but suck up system resources.

BitTorrent isn't *exactly* communism, per se. The original poster of the file is sharing it freely (and seeding it), but in order to download it you need to trade upload bandwidth.

So I suppose it's like communism, except it actually forces you to put work into the society instead of just assuming that you will.
