Didn't know how to word the title. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif]

What games for each console has the best graphics and/or technology? (I'm only using SNES and N64 cause I'm lazy)

SNES:
- Yoshi's Island (a physics system, ability to have VERY large sprites, many of them, screen distortion and being able to deform spirtes on the fly, not to mention having multiple detailed layered backgrounds)

- Star Fox (More of less fully 3D, and pretty fluid animation)

N64:
- Conkers Bad Fur Day (No question here, last game made and most advanced too)

- Donkey Kong 64 (Similar to Conkers, but older)

SNES - I never played Yoshi's island, but Super Mario RPG was pretty good.

Ahh.... Conkers Bad Fur Day was an awesome game!

Tekken 3 for the PS1 was pretty sweet... although I don't know about the most advanced.

Shen Mue was pretty good for the dreamcast... but i'm sure there would have been some even more uber games for that if production continued longer.

Forgot about Mario RPG! Although it was all just sprites and a 2d backgroundground made to look 3D, it did look good. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Soul Calibur has awesome graphics for the Dreamcast.

Strangely enough, first game that comes to mind for PS2 is Gran Turismo 2. It's a few years old now, but damn if some of the replays arent just like watching racing on TV.

Havent really played that many GameCube games, but Zelda's graphics were pretty special in their own way.

PC: Far Cry. The demo is just... Wow.

StarFox for the SNES ran at about 5 frames per second. That's not too impressive, at least in retrospect.

In terms of sheer artwork, I'd say FF3/FF6 is probably the ruler of the SNES. Or maybe Mario RPG. Possibly Chronotrigger or Secret of Mana or something. Square pretty much had a monopoly on amazing tile artwork in those days.

SNES:
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario RPG

Genesis:
Sonic 3D Blast

N64:

Dreamcast:
Soul Caliber
Shenmue

Gamecube:
Soul Caliber 2

PC:

Gameboy Advance:
Golden Sun 1&2 (Hands down, no argument)

That's all I can think of.
