I'd love to play, but I think I'm busy most of the afternoon. Like someone else asked, what time would this be?

My vote goes for NF Nar CTF, no mods.

CTF is the best idea ever.

A deticated server from 9:00 friday night to 9:00 monday morning would be superb, that way we can all get in some fun-stuff.

Also, at the end of every round, someone could post the scores on a thread, then if there were any mistakes, the thread could be updated. Then, at the end, someone could do some exeling, and come up with a ranks list.

Having this every weekend, or simply all the time would actually be quite badass. Just hopping into the game every once in a while, ticking a few kills, and seeing my stats rise later. That'd be a good idea, imho. Something like brad's stats for the chat.

I can possibly run up to 3 servers at a time, depending if I can run multiple servers from the same IP address. If not, I can still do 2.

The problem with dedicated servers:
A. I have to be ingame, thus slightly offbalance... but I'll make sure I don't join a CTF side. It shouldn't matter much in the end, since I'll have max players at 32.
B. CTF levels will have to rotate, otherwise the game ends after one level, and I have to continuously restart the server. So no sticking to just Nar NF CTF.
C. No admins. I can't sit in every game, much less one. Thus, hacking could become a problem for the "less mature".

Otherwise, I have no real problems with it. I can also run any mod under the sun, but I agree one will at least be no mods NF CTF. I can host from 4:00PM Friday (EST), to Sunday 9:00PM (EST).


And I'll try to play as little as possible. I know how unfair the game is when I play.


ON A REVEALATION:
There is a roundabout way to avoiding the single level = one match problem. Setting the level to neverend, as in, no timer and unlimited to win a CTF match. It's up to you guys. I can either make the maps rotate, or not let the match end. Obviously there are flaws in both, but it's unavoidable with dated technology such as this.

I doubt you can run three servers on one machine, because JK will want to be rendering three players, which will destroy your CPU. Unless you can have it minimized and still running.

^^ Somehow I dont think we'll get enough players to warrant the use of more than one server. But you never know. I say just plan for one server, people can host new games themselves if enough people show up.

Not on the same system. I have three computers, all of course can run JK no problem.

My main system, the family PC (which is nearly as good as mine), and my craptop, which is still plenty fast for a good ole JK game.

But either way, I'll just plan on one server then. Any other people got suggestions for the Neverending / Rotate Levels option?

I'd put my vote for SBX if using a mod, but I am also a little biased since my clan co-leader is also the creator of SBX, heh. I do love the mod, but in the interest of more players, I won't have much of a problem with no mod either. JKA might be a good idea too, as suggested before.

Whatever the case, I dunno if I'll be able to jump in, but I'll do what I can. Keep us informed on time and IP addy and such.

Well, what about the 'Every Weekend' idea, CoolMatty? I think quite a few people would enjoy a game-type like this. A CTF game, and say, an ever-running JKA game would be... yeah, awesom. I'd be willing to orginize the ranking system, as long as people were interested in playing.

Nah. JK dedicated servers are way too much work to maintain. A JA server I would have no problems with, those are easily maintained. But a JK server is much more difficult. You can't just start a dedicated server and throw it in your system tray like you can with JA. In JK, the game itself is always running, eating up processing power, and it really messes with DirectX while it is minimized, meaning that every weekend I would be unable to play any games I might want to play. I have no problem with one weekend, sure. But continuously I'd rather not. First off, I doubt it would stay active. Second off, as I said earlier, it's just too dang difficult to keep them running smoothly.

OK, just changed my mind... I can't make it on Saturday because of the following reasons:

1. I have no chat program so I can't get instructions at #massgames
2. I had something planned on Saturday. Planned to play AvP with a friend over the network.
3. Decided to learn PHP to make a forum of my own so I'd need alot of spare time at home.
