I'm getting pretty low on disk space here, and I was wondering if anyone had some spare hard drives they could sell me? I'm looking for 40 - 50GBs if possible.

New 40 GB HDDs with 2MB cache are ~40-45 bucks. That's probably what you're looking for. www.newegg.com

I know the price new, but obviously I'm trying to spend a little less money which is why I'm asking about them used.

Try Ebay, I've gotten 20 HD's with about 10gb each on them for around $20

I wouldn't buy used b/c:

1. you have absolutely no warranty with it.

2. You take the trouble to install it and then you watch it die a week later and take your data with it.
